My school trip to the UK by Victoria Bísková, 7. A
The ride to the UK was mostly enjoyable, but in the end it was getting too long and annoying with some of the kids doing so much noise at the back. But it was smooth and safe all the time.
When we arrived to London, I felt the difference between the vibe and atmosphere, especially from other people. They were smiling, they were welcoming and polite. I am not saying that Czech people are only mean, but in my eyes people in England were sweeter.
I loved the culture, the buildings in London. Big Ben was bigger than I expected, to be honest. I also liked how there was a clear difference between old and new – when these two different types of architecture stood next to each other.
Madame Tussauds was definitely my favourite. It was very well organized, and the atmosphere was great. I liked the “taxi ride” which depicted the history of London.
I liked the city in general; I was just very tired in the end.
The host families were lovely. They were kind, welcoming and our “mum” was an amazing cook. I liked and appreciated that she cooked meals like spaghetti for us, because she knew we might not like their national food. It was a little gesture, but a sweet one.
The school was alright. We mostly played games. In my opinion Malcom was the best out of the three teachers as he was really patient with us.
I absolutely loved Brighton. It was beautiful, the people were amazing. I liked how everyone’s clothes, hair, accessories were different – because no one judged. I liked the overall energy. The sea and the weather were lovely.
Hastings was also beautiful; I really liked the view from the Hastings Castle. The beach was beautiful, although it was very rocky. The Arundel Castle was also beautiful, I loved how fancy and old it looked, as if I travelled back in time when it was built. I loved the gardens; it was only a shame that it started raining when we were there.
I liked the second journey to London a little more. I loved the skyscraper Horizon 22 the most as it made us realize how big London is. I also liked the boat ride from Greenwich to London Bridge a lot, although it was a little short.
What I would like to say at the end – I loved England. And if there was ever a chance to travel there again, I’d take it in a heartbeat.
